Full-body MRI scanning is a powerful tool in this new landscape of preventative screening. Unlike many other imaging techniques, MRI doesn’t use ionising radiation and can visualise soft tissues with remarkable detail. It can detect early-stage tumours and abnormalities across multiple organ systems – before they cause symptoms.

Historically, full-body MRI wasn’t widely accessible or practical for routine use. But that’s changing. Companies like EZRA, an American health technology firm recently launched in London, are making this technology more efficient, affordable, and patient-friendly.

Where AI Comes In

What makes EZRA particularly innovative is its use of AI-assisted analysis. Their platform combines radiologist expertise with machine learning algorithms trained to detect early signs of cancer and other serious conditions across the body.

AI doesn’t replace radiologists—it enhances their ability to spot subtle findings quickly and consistently. It helps standardise reporting and prioritises potential areas of concern, leading to faster diagnostics and more informed clinical decision-making.

The Data: Does Early Detection Save Lives?

Evidence increasingly supports the value of early detection. Numerous studies show that cancers diagnosed at earlier stages (Stage I or II) have significantly better survival rates than those caught later. For example:

Early-stage colon cancer has a 5-year survival rate of over 90%, compared to less than 15% at Stage IV.

Similarly, early detection of kidney, liver, and pancreatic cancers can mean the difference between curative surgery and palliative care.

By detecting cancers before symptoms arise, AI-assisted full-body MRI has the potential to shift these odds, improving outcomes through earlier intervention.

Approaching Full-Body Scans with Caution & Care

While the promise is exciting, it’s important to approach full-body scanning responsibly. Not every incidental finding is clinically significant, and over-investigation can lead to unnecessary anxiety or procedures. This is why it’s crucial that scans are interpreted within a sound clinical context.

We are now partnered with Ezra here in the UK and are able to offer our patients a full scan and follow up consultation with our own GP’s here at The Brook Surgery.

We are able to offer 2 types of Full Body scan:

1. Full Body Scan Plus – this scans for cancer in up to 13 organs including brain, spine, thyroid, liver, gallbladder, pancreas,  spleen, kidney, adrenal glands, bladder, ovaries, uterus and prostate.

2. Full Body Scan Plus with CT – offers all of the above, with the addition of a CT scan to check the lungs for cancer, pulmonary nodules, emphysema etc.

We are also able to offer a discount off the normal Ezra RRP.

Scan Type Ezra RRP Brook Surgery Price
1. Full Body Plus £2,395 £2,295
2. Full Body Plus with CT £2,695 £2,545

You do not need to make an appointment with your GP to book an Ezra scan, simply complete the enquiry form below. Our team will then contact you at a convenient time to arrange for payment and talk you through all the details of the scan and the booking procedure.
